Dragon Boats

Sunday 19 July 2020 Cancelled

In light of the ongoing developments with Coronavirus here in the UK, we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel Kingston Rotary Dragonboat Challenge on 19th July 2020. We feel this is the most sensible approach in the interest of public health and the well-being of our community.

All the teams that have already sent in their deposits will be contacted directly.

Thank you for your support over the last 19 years and hopefully we look forward to welcoming you to our event next year.

Hundreds of competitors in approx 60 teams battle it out on the river from 9.30 am to determine who makes it into the exciting eight boat final at about 4 pm for the Challenge Cup.   Market stalls, sideshows and bouncy castles plus rides for the kids go to make this a fun filled day, that last year raised over £60,000  for various charities.

So come and join us for a fun packed day for all the family at one of the largest Dragon Boat events in the UK.

All teams are required to raise money for Charity through team sponsorship. There is also an award for the team sporting the best headgear or costume.

If you wish to take part in the racing – no experience necessary and you will be given training (bouyancy aids, just in case).

Teams compete in three heats to determine the eight fastest boats.
